Spindler Construction contracted with Commonwealth Dynamics, Inc. to construct this specialized concrete slab foundation for a new chimney at the PacifiCorp power plant in Kemmerer, Wyoming. This project included the excavation, forming, pouring, and finishing of the massive concrete slab. The slab was 8 feet thick and approximately 100 feet across. Spindler Construction’s crews placed the concrete in one pour over a 24 hour period. The slab contained 2700 cubic yards of concrete and 650,000 pounds of rebar. The project also included the placement of 48 drilled concrete piers. The project was completed on time and within budget without claims or disputes.
